Motorcycle Blogger International was an informal association of people who ride motorcyles or scooters and write about it. Members came from all walks of life and cultures. This association is no longer functioning. But they had two things in common: they enjoyed riding and writing about it. they had 202 members.
Members had to maintain a blog with the majority of the content being related to motorcycles or scooters, and had been doing so for at least three months. Membership requests from inactive sites and sites without original commentary were not accepted.
Members were encourged to display the MBI logo on their site. There were no required dues or other financial obligations. Website and awards costs are offset by voluntary donations.
About The Awards
The MBI Riders Choice awards were given for events, actions by a person or group and new products sold for the first time during the award year.
We wanted to recognize both the best and worst within the motorcycling world so there were two types of awards: Star and Fallen Star. The former was for noteworthy achievement and the latter for serious lapse of judgement.
Nominations were submitted by MBI members and the motorcycle riding public. MBI members then select five finalists in each category. MBI members and the public then voted for their choice in each category.
One major category is safety. Motorcycle safety is of utmost importance to our community of riders. Automobile drivers need to watch out for motorcyles as much as riders need to maintain the same level of safety. If you're driving a car or a motorcycle, don't drink and drive!
